Kaitlan Collins questions Trump

Oval Office Exchange Sparks Media Backlash — In a February 3 press interaction at the White House, Kaitlan Collins, CNN’s chief White House correspondent, pressed former president Donald Trump on the newly released and heavily redacted Jeffrey Epstein files and how survivors of the disgraced financier feel about justice not being served. Collins raised concerns from victims and asked:
“What would you say to the survivors who feel like they haven’t gotten justice?”
Rather than answer, Trump diverted to personal criticism of the reporter and her network. According to eyewitness accounts and video clips of the exchange, he responded with a series of remarks including:
“You are so bad. You are the worst reporter.”
“CNN has no ratings because of people like you.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile.”
“You’re a very dishonest organization and they should be ashamed of you.”

When Collins attempted to refocus on the subject, saying “These are survivors of a sexual abuser,” Trump continued to press his point about her demeanor rather than address the original question.

The exchange quickly drew criticism from media critics and observers, who saw it as an attempt to deflect from substantive concerns about transparency and accountability for abuse survivors.
